My website traffic dropped from one country
Updated 2026-10-16
Short answer: when the overall numbers look normal, a drop from a single country is easy to miss. It usually means something is blocking or failing for that region: a firewall or country rule, a routing problem, or a service that doesn't work there.
How to check it yourself
- In your analytics, compare visits by country for the last 7 days against the week before.
- Look for a country that fell sharply while the total held.
- Check your firewall or Cloudflare country rules, and any recent changes to them.
- Ask someone in that country to load the site, or use a test service with probes there.
What Preventionlabs shows
With a read-only Cloudflare token connected, every report compares visitors and page views, last 7 days against the week before and yesterday against a typical day, and lists countries whose requests fell to a tenth or less while the total held. These are Cloudflare's counts, bots included. For example, from a real report: "Requests from NL: 27 in the last 7 days, 1030 the 7 days before, while the domain's total held", and on the same site Spain went from 292 to 0.
