Did AI add noindex to my site?

Updated 2026-10-17

Short answer: check your live pages for a noindex tag and your robots.txt for a block.

AI coding tools check that the code runs. They don't check what the live site serves. So a change can pass every test and still break the site, and the AI reports the job as done. AI tools often copy a staging setting to the live site.

How to check it yourself

  1. View the source of your homepage. Search for noindex.
  2. Open /robots.txt. Look for Disallow: /.
  3. In Google Search Console, inspect the page and read why it's excluded.

What Preventionlabs shows

Preventionlabs checks for noindex tags and robots.txt blocks, and which sitemap pages fail or redirect. Each report lists problems first, with the evidence and what to do, and shows what changed since the last report.

Give your AI agent the Preventionlabs MCP server and it runs the same check itself after it deploys.
