What is wrong with my website?
Updated 2026-10-16
Short answer: when a site "just isn't right", the cause is usually in one of a handful of places: it isn't loading for everyone, a page or script is failing, HTTPS or the redirects are broken, email records are wrong, DNS or the domain changed, or something is blocking visitors. Checking each from the outside, in that order, finds it.
How to check it yourself
- Open the site in a private window on another network (your phone on mobile data) to rule out your own computer.
- Try every version of the address: with and without www, http and https.
- Open the browser's developer tools and look for red errors in the Console and failed requests in Network.
- Check whether anything changed just before: an update, a deploy, a DNS or hosting change.
- Check the domain's expiry and DNS records, and your email records if email is part of the problem.
What Preventionlabs shows
One click runs up to 25 checks from the outside and puts the answer at the top: problems first, each with the evidence and what to do, then notes, then what's fine, then anything that couldn't be checked and why. It covers loading and redirects, up to 50 pages from your sitemap, JavaScript errors in a real browser, HTTPS, email records, DNS and the domain, leaked files and, with a read-only Cloudflare token, the errors visitors got, firewall blocks and the changes made just before. See everything a report checks.
